Story Splash is a small, independent studio that makes personalized watercolor picture books for kids. This page explains exactly what we collect, what we never save, and what we do with the rest.

Your kid’s photo is never saved

This isn’t a policy. It’s the architecture. When you upload a photo, it travels from your browser to our server in a single encrypted request. Our code reads the pixels once, uses them to design the cartoon character, and then discards them.

There is no database row for the photo. There is no cloud storage bucket. There is no backup tape. No cleanup job runs at midnight, because there is nothing to clean up. If our server restarts while a book is being generated, the photo is gone.

What we do save

We save the cartoon book. That means the character design, the cover, the illustrations, and the story text. This is the thing you paid for, and you can reopen it anytime at your private reader link. Your book stays with us until you tell us to delete it.

What we collect

  • Your email address, to send you the reader link and receipts.
  • Your payment token from Stripe. We never see or store your card number.
  • The form inputs you provided (your kid’s name, whether they’re a girl or boy, and what they love).
  • The generated book itself, including the character sheet and illustrations.

What we never collect

  • Your kid’s real photo (after the book is made)
  • Your card number
  • Your location
  • Behavioral tracking data for advertising
  • Anything we’d be embarrassed to have stolen

AI & your data

Your photo and your book are never used to train any AI model. The technology we use to create the illustrations processes your data once and discards it. Nothing is stored, learned from, or reused in any way.

Deleting your book

Email us at support@getstorysplash.com with your order number and we’ll delete every trace of your order, usually within 48 hours. You’ll get a confirmation when it’s done.

Kids

Story Splash is a product for kids, but it’s purchased and controlled by their grown-up. We do not knowingly collect information directly from children under 13. A child’s first name and likes, submitted by a parent, are what we need to write the book. That’s all.
